Today’s fierce little tiger comes to us by way of Sunset Zoo in Kansas. This one is best watched with the sound on: it just adds to the overall cuteness.
The zoo welcomed a pair of Malayan tiger cubs born at the facility on August 23rd of this year. The cubs have not yet been shown in public, as they are still spending time with their mother in the nursing den. As per the zoo’s website “Malayan tigers are one of the most critically endangered tiger subspecies, with estimates of fewer than 150 individuals left in the wild. Their population has plummeted due to poaching, habitat destruction, and human-wildlife conflict.” With the zoo’s participation in a worldwide species survival plan, the birth of this pair will help with conservation efforts in the linage and genetic diversity for a critically endangered population.
was sure this was about Calvin and Hobbes. . .
Someone found their voice and they aren't afraid to use it! I met my Cosmo when he was approx. 11 days old and that's all he did that day was yowl. Okay it was a squeaky yowl but he wanted the world to know he existed. When I was finally able to take him home at about 7 weeks old he no longer talked. And he stayed silent except when very upset (hangry mostly). He turned 11 this October and for the last year he has become quite vocal. Still not much more than a squeak but they come much more often. I guess he is now a cranky old man and wants to complain about everything. Thanks, Martini for the smile on my face.
