Thanks, Martini, for the history. Always appreciated. I did want to point out that chocolate is more expensive now because of several crop failures that happened in West Africa this year. That is where 60% of the world's cocoa beans are grown. It was a combo of climate change, aging trees, fungus infections and a shortage of fertilizer (with all the bullshit coming from Republicans, how did that happen?). The industry is going to have to change a lot of how it does business to correct these problems.
Sometimes when I'm reading old books or stories they will mention someone having "a cup of chocolate" with a meal. They never specify whether it was hot or cold...
If the average American is eating three chocolate bars a week, someone out there is eating more than that because I don't eat any (because it gives me severe migraines.)
