What a great discovery! Nature is indeed wondrous. Such a sweet little octopus doing sweet little octopus stuff. Now here is to hoping they remain un molested and allowed to live their little octopus lives.
The little creature is a cutie, of course, and once again shows we need to spend more time exploring our own world and not give money to assholes like Bezos and Musky Boi to explore space. Don't misunderstand me, we need to explore space but efficiently and not with rockets that go BOOM! 3 seconds into a test launch. Would love to know more about the social life and intelligence of this little creature. Talk about fascinating stuff. Thanks, Martini!
These smart researchers from The E/V Nautilus- experienced, probably, familiar enough with their own field experience to be able to sense alert when confronted with a novelty such as this-these top scientists, we have a tough question for you to answer:
Why did you collect only a single one of these "few other" specimens? Collecting two would have saved the later aprehensions concerning the prospect of cutting the rare thing and spared the cost and mess of splurging on x-ray, computed tomography,
Please remember, E/V Nautilus smartys, public funding is becoming as rare as these enchanting little blue Microeledones.
Cute little critters! Ain't nature wonderful!
Nature just keeps on delighting! What marvelous creatures. I'm almost wishing that they weren't discovered
Let us hope that the avaricious, shameless moneybelts do not decide that these wee miracles are "fashionable accessories"...

So cool and soooooo cute 🤗💙💙🤗
Sweet!
Such are the times we live in that my first thought was "Are these beauties safe from human depredations?"
The aliens will not be coming from outer space. They've been here the whole time.
My favorite part is how they didn't immediately murder and dissect it!
Or at least dissect it. I doubt it lasted long in alcohol and formalin.
Good point. I think my brain wanted to miss the murder part. 🥺
I know - me too - but at least it seems they were very respectful of the little critter.

Thanks Martini, I saw a short paragraph about this, but your post has more details. Wonderful.
