Ah, I was wondering what that was. I thought it didn't look like a chimp or a gorilla but those were the only two black-furred primates I could think of offhand.
I absolutely LOVE all of our primate cousins and I've fallen in love with this sweet 'lil Gibbon and its' nimble momma. These nimble creatures are SO clever and just absolutely fascinating to watch in their own habitat.
So am I the only one who thought of Kala's baby? Kala, aka Tarzan's simian mother? I know the Disney version had her baby killed by the villain but in the book the baby lost it's grip and fell to it's death. No I didn't read the book, I read the Classics Illustrated version of the book. Sorry but whenever I see animals whose babies cling to them I think of Tarzan. I didn't know there were gibbons this big so thank you for the new knowledge, Martini. Also the duetting is interesting but are there grumpy old gibbons who are thinking "yeah, yeah, we know. shut up already, I'm trying to sleep in"? I'm not saying there are just that there could be, right? Thanks, Martini for waking up my brain.
Ta, Martini. Didn't know this one.

I still remember what a depressing place the Lowry Park Zoo was when I was a kid. The transformation is most welcome.
