Adorbs! Thank you for the skinny on Maned wolves, a canus apart. My husband and I breed African Basenjis. The wolves breeding habits, solitary style, foods and sweet symbiosis with an ant - fascinating.
I was not awake when I first saw the gif and thought is that a coyote? But coyotes don't have long legs. Was this manipulated? And then I read the info and was like "duh". It did not occur to me that it was an animal I had never seen before. Thanks Martini for the grin on my face (puppies!) and the knowledge.
I always referred to them as the supermodels of the dog world. Their vocalizations are also quite different from our wild North American canids. Instead of howling or yodeling, they greet the dawn and dusk with a roar bark, spaced several seconds apart, that announces that they are on their territory and ready to patrol.
Puppy!
Such adorable puppies! Thanks! I needed that.

"Supermodels of the dog world," I love it!
