About a month ago, I bought new hiking pants to replace my well-worn 10-year-old pair that I got from Au Vieux Campeur when we first moved to Lyon. Today they got their second wearing. Well, I shoulda known not to trust pants. I had put my trusty iPhone old in the back pocket and about 2/3 of the way through our planned walk, realized that the pocket had sprung a hole and the phone had slipped out. Fortunately, we were able to find the wayward device by retracing out steps.
In the meantime, I didn’t take very many pictures today, but here are a few I managed to snap for your viewing pleasure.

We also managed to run into a bunch of local friends today. My French speaking got a workout. I’m getting better, but geeze, I still make beaucoup mistakes.
Pants! Run away!
You're gonna go back and harvest those chestnuts, right?
