I love the gif (the cutlery was a great idea). My late mother always had rose bushes at every house we lived in and she taught us that ladybugs were important for protecting the bushes from aphids so we kids were not to bother the ladybugs. I am old so they will always be ladybugs to me even if they are beetles. The nickname ladybird I don't understand because a bird is even less like beetle than a bug is but it is probably a regional thing. Ladybird to me will always be Mrs Johnson. Thanks for the info and the clever gif Martini. Always a treat to stop by the tabs gif info.
Thanks Mary! It too me entirely too long to do, but I'm happy with the result and heck, I learned a lot. That's what's great about Tabs giffing, always educational for me, and I hope I pass some of that along to all of you, my friends!
And yes, "ladybird" sounds weird to me too. I'll try to change, but it'll likely be "ladybugs" for me most of the time too. Just don't tell the entomologists!
Thanks, as always, for the knowledge Martini! I let loose a bevy of lady-call-then-what-you-will in the veggie garden this year and have virtually no aphids! So happy, last year those bugs ruined many a crop.
Yet more edjumacation, from our Glambassador! Thanks!
I have always loved ladybugs. If she be beetle, let it be, let it be.
LOL!
I would wear a "perfume of fear".
It's a great name :)
Ladybird beetle, Ladybird beetle, fly away home. Your house is on fire, etc.
I have to get used to this.
fucks up the scansion

I understand there are places you can order boxes of ladybugs from for aphid control. Imnagine how cute, opening a box of ladybugs!
normally, I am flexible enough about corrections to the language, but whose feelings are hurt by "ladybug"? they won't give a damn.
