I remember seeing a short segment on tv (pre internet days) about a family that got a pot bellied pig as a pet but it was just a baby pig and grew to be farm sized. It was still their pet and took up all the room on the couch and roamed around the house like a large dog. One of the treats they gave her was bacon which she loved. Pig cannibalism!
I take it from my brief research on the subject that that’s a thing that can happen, dishonest breeders selling pigs as “mini” that really aren’t. I can’t imagine managing a 400-700 pound house pet very well, no matter how sweet-tempered.

I agree on the managing part. It wasn't the biggest pig I'd ever seen but it was bigger than any dog I'd seen. It was a very cute baby, though.
