Is it possible to drink coffee underwater? It is, if the video below isn’t trickery (I’m not convinced—the fluid seems pretty viscous). Still, I can’t imagine it’s a very good cup, with the water you’d also have to swallow trying to get the coffee in your mouth after you removed your mask. Of course, this is of no concern to cartoon jellyfish, looking for their morning jolt.
In the video below, the “brewed coffee” is denser than seawater, as it sinks into the cup, displacing the water there. I dunno, doesn’t seem very realistic to me. I suppose I could try to valide this experiement easily enough at home with a sink filled with tap water, a thermos and a cup, but who wants to waste good coffee like that?! If somebody out there trys it, let me know how it goes.
I feel compelled to report that my experiment in the bathtub this morning did not go well, not even with the snorkel.
We must all remember that the beach is just the fuzzy rug in front of the fish's toilet. Neither is ever really clean.
