Today’s header gif takes a scene from the 1938 movie “Shine On, Harvest Moon,” not to be confused by a musical of the same name from 1944 with a very different cast and plot.
The 1938 flic stars singing cowboy Roy Rogers as the cowboy named Roy Rogers. Which, hey, when you are one of the top stars of the era, they do that sort of thing. Roy’s love interest Claire is played by Mary Hart. Roy and Claire are caught up in a ranching dispute when cattle rustlers try to blackmail Claire’s father—and Roy’s partner in a Wyoming ranch—into returning to a life of crime. Ultimatums are refused, dirty tricks are employed, and much singing and gunslinging result.
Also appearing in supporting roles are Stanley Andrews and William Farnum, and Lulu Belle and Scotty are featured in their only film appearance. Roy’s famous horse Trigger is also mentioned in the movie credits.

I didn't like singing cowboys when I was a child. Too silly. I preferred my cowboys to me manly men with silly names like Hopalong Cassidy or the Cisco Kid.
