Aw, otter moms take good care of their fluffy, fluffy babies. Today we have a mother and day-old pup pair floating together.
Otter pups are not born knowing how to swim, so mothers keep them floating with them until they learn swimming, at about six months old. And even after they mature enough to swim independently, otters will stick together as they float, holding paws to keep from drifting apart. They will float in groups together, forming what is called a “raft.” The Dodo has an informative video that has more fun and adorable facts about these floating cuties.
