There’s a guy named Dan that lives with a floofy kitty named Plumps and another floofy recently-adopted kitty named Stella and he shares posts about the moose that come to visit him and his cats at his home in Alaska. He’s been friends with Lovey the Moose for the 14 years since she was just a calf. Lovey comes and goes, but when she visits, she’s sure to stay for cuddles. (It’s a very special and unusual friendship—don’t try moose cuddles at home!) Dan’s property is a sort of sanctuary for other local moose that live in the area. Here’s what he writes about some recent visitors to his property who came to enjoy the flowers:
Hello everyone! Here’s a video of the moose I named Hope finally visiting with her new calf! Hope was orphaned as a calf and arrived at my house alone and distressed. Lovey’s bull Tonka befriended Hope and she slowly gained weight and recovered. On one occasion Hope was viscously kicked by an aggressive intruder but Tonka chased it away without hesitation. Hope had a difficult beginning but found sanctuary and belonging on this property. Significant scaring suggests a possible bear encounter and I’m greatly relieved Hope did not lose her baby. After such a scare it’s no surprise Hope returned to a place she felt safe and familiar. Here she will have open fields of green grass and the added protection of my brave cat Plumps. Hope is smaller than Lovey and not as powerful but very few moose reach her dominance. Hope will defend this calf with her life and I’m confident with Plumps assistance no bear will dare challenge our special friends. Stella has been watching from the window and I think she wants to assist our visitors too! 🥰 Do you think Hope returned because she feels safer here? Happy Sunday from Alaska dear friends! 🤗🌎💫 Please never approach a moose in the wild for they can be extremely dangerous.

This is the sweetest story! Brave Hope and her allies.
