Oh my gosh, this guy, I love him! Talk about lightning reflexes, this cuttlefish shows his mad skillz. And he certainly can recognize a free meal when he sees one, even if he’s a bit shy to approach at first. Cuttlefish are some of the most intelligent invertebrates on the planet with the largest brain-to-body ratio of any in their animal kingdom group.
I think that I found the original poster for this video, which has been shared a bunch of times. If so, this was filmed in Japan, I think at the Amami Ocean Exhibition Hall. Sadly, there’s not much more info than that in the post, so I’m not sure what species of cuttlefish our friend is. In any event, he’s one cool dude.
