Today’s gif borrows a bit from “Betty Boop’s Hallowe’en Party,” a Fleisher Studios short from 1933. Betty knows how to throw a shindig. Although you do have to bring your own lunch.
In the cartoon, Betty and her friends decorate her little house for a party. Everybody comes, Betty sings a little tune, the gang bobs for apples. Everything goes well until an ill-tempered gorilla crashes the event. But don’t worry, the spirits have got Betty’s back and they chase the interloper away. You may watch the whole thing here: Internet Archive: Betty Boop Halloween Party 1933.
You know who else is having a party? Your friend Rebecca is who! If you will be in the Detroit area Saturday, October 28 at 7PM and are interested in attending, email her at rebecca at wonkette dot com. Make sure to title your email “I am not coming to murder you.” The party is free, although donations will be taken on behalf of the Michigan Democratic Party. Support Big Gretch, say “hi” to Donna Rose, go have some fun!
Thanks, Martini, I have always loved Betty Boop. She was so subversive.🤪
This must be a pre-code Betty Boop.
